  • Proposition 206 – Paid Sick Time & Minimum Wage, FLSA Overtime Rules, & Legislative Update

With the arrival of the New Year, 2017 is anticipated to be another year of complex changes for Human Resources. Proposition 206 was passed in Arizona, which will increase the minimum wage to $12.00 per hour by 2020, with the first increase to $10.00 already in effect. In addition, Prop 206 includes complex mandatory sick leave rules for Arizona businesses, effective July 1, 2017. In this session, we will provide an overview of Prop 206, including various provisions under the mandatory sick leave and insights on how businesses can manage these changes. We will also discuss the recent injunction temporarily blocking the new DOL overtime rules, important OSHA updates, and other changes we may see in the months ahead.
